Contents Page Analysis:

This is the contents page for the magazine Kerrang. Its an affective yet simple page, where it gives all of the details that the reader needs to see and it is also eye catching with the images that have been used. The main image used is of a person from a band. This can help to show that it is a music magazine, also as he is the main picture on the contents, he is more than likely to be the main article on the front cover. Smaller pictures of different people are used to represent the different types of articles that are going to be mentioned inside the magazine. The headings on the contents, can show the reader the main parts of the magazine and where to look if they want to see different articles. Page numbers are given so that the page can be found quite easily, instead of the reader having to flick through the whole magazine and find what they are looking for.

Front Cover Analysis (Kerrang)

This is the front cover of the magazine Kerrang, i used magazines like this for my inspiration in which i used to create the magazine REPLAY. They are not identical however they do have similar features in which most magazines have in the way that they are set out and worded. The first thing that catches the readers eye is the big, bold writing of the name Biffy Clyro, this shows the importance of the name and can show that, that is the main article of that weeks magazine. The title in Kerrang takes the background, it makes it seem less significant, but the way that it has been places on top, does show that it is still one of the most important things on the front cover, along with the main picture and main article headline. They are little captions and pictures of different events and people, which shows the reader that these will also appear in the magazine, which saves the reader having to go into the contents page to see what the main articles are about.
